Have you ever played ‘spot the ball’? Well, MCI is asking you to ‘spot the blown channel’ in this IGBT!
The IGBT came from our clients inverter drive (VSD) that was giving inconsistent performance. After testing and a very close inspection, our engineer noticed this tiny hole blown from the inside of the component. The whole module had to be replaced and the inverter is working as expected.
